And finally.....

Greetings Gentle Readers,

At the risk of boring you rigid with my recent travails with 1st Corps (here and here), I have finally had a response from them. Given that my last email to them (Subject: Third attempt at Contact) was this:

'Hi, My current Blog post which mentions 1st Corps can be found here (link),
Regards,
Stuart Markham'

Well, they emailed me the following:

'Hello Mark,

We didn't receive your 2 previous emails and thought this was a
spam mail due to the subject line and link. Sorry about the mistake but i'm sure
a phone call would have sorted the mistake rather than publishing it on your
blog.
.
We'll get the extra spears off to you asap.

Best
regards,

Michael'

So I replied:

'Hello Michael,
Actually my name's Stuart, but I get that a lot. First two emails were via your 'contact us' page on the website, so that seems not to be working. If neither of those got through and my third attempt was dismissed as Spam then how did you know about my problem? Presumably my Blog, so it did its job. In this day and age emails should be sufficient to resolve problems, even one as trivial as this. I will post a blog showing your response, but a lot of people agreed with my being hacked off, so you might want to get the email situation sorted.
Regards,
Stuart (Pendragon Without) '

And that would appear to be that. Was I write to blog the situation? I believe yes, given the lack of response. Should I have rung them up and complained - probably, but then I've got the internet, so why should I pay for the call? And, as my email says, if they hadn't registered three attempts to contact, it must have been the blog that got a response so I guess I am justified in my course of actions.

Enough of 'Speargate' as I have come to call it! I am off to live in a lovely pub in Canterbury for a few days

so posts will cease, and I will hopefully return refreshed and relaxed, and slightly larger around the belly. Any suggestions for good stuff to look at in Kent whilst there will be gratefully received!

Until next time....

1st Corps Fail To Deliver

Greetings Gentle Readers,

And lo it came to pass that after some weeks had passed 1st Corps continued to ignore my emails and held on selfishly to my ten legally-purchased spears, for whatever reason they deemed necessary to justify it to themselves....

But wait....What's this?! Fellow Blogger Roy of RoyW.'s Hobby Blog has grabbed some steel pins, cutters and no doubt safety glasses, strapped on his trusty solar-powered grinder and knocked out 30 lovely spears which arrived in the post this morning.

So, to Roy:

And to myself:

And to 1st Corps:

Pendragon's Law in Action

Greetings Gentle Readers,

It appears that Pendragon's Law has struck again. If this carries on I have no doubt I will be labelled either a whinger (or possibly a Pommie Whinger if Evan and Millsy read this), or a cheapskate. I am honestly neither - as usual I JUST WANT WHAT I PAID FOR!

I ordered 30 lovely Norman spearmen to augment my Dark Ages stuff. No problem there - they arrived without any drama and are lovely figures - Thank you North Star! As is usual with these figures you are obliged to provide your own spears.

Not a problem, thinks I, so I popped straight over to the 1st Corps website and ordered the exact number I required (30) for a measly £4.00. Excellent! £2.00 postage for something weighing less than a ladybird's turd - not so excellent, but hey...I needed them so I awaited them eagerly. Those of you familiar with Pendragon's Law will realise that that was my obvious mistake. If I had merely forgotten about them they would have dropped through the letterbox with no fuss, probably the next day!

So, when when they arrived there were only 20 spears:

'Obviously my fault' was my first reaction and popped back to the 1st Corps website and checked. Take a look here - Does that say 30 or does it say 20?!

Rest assured I have contacted 1st Corps via their website, and as you might expect from my previous escapades with manufacturers, I have been ignored completely.....I know it's a really minor purchase but FFS it's more hassle for me as usual.

So - what would you do? Buy another pack? Keep on complaining? Or write it up on your Blog and see what happens?
Answers below please!

Until next time...

Update: Many thanks for your comments - it seems we are in accord! I have passed a link to this blog to 1st Corps and await developments. I am starting to feel like Ann Robinson.....
