Greetings Gentle Readers,
There is an ancient Chinese proverb: 'When the winds of change blow, some build walls, while others build windmills'.
Well, the fact is I'd like to be building a windmill, but after two weeks my replacement Post Windmill from Sarissa Precision has still not arrived. Unfortunately it is turning into another of those customer service saga's that seem to plague my existence - reading elsewhere on the net this lapse doesn't seem to be the norm for Sarissa, so once again it appears to be my rotten luck!
It all started so well, which you'll know if you read my blog entry of May 10th - On that day they were putting one in the post on the 11th. On the 13th they let me know it had gone out a few days previously (11th presumably) but by 2nd class mail, by mistake. On the 20th I emailed to say it still hadn't arrived and could they confirm that it had definitely been sent? They replied the same day that they would check and get back to me. It is now the 23rd May, and still no email and no windmill. As it's a bank holiday on Monday I may not get it until Tuesday 26th at the earliest, and maybe not even then.
Sigh..... In the grand tapestry of life I suppose it is a small and trivial thing, but that doesn't stop me feeling a bit peeved, indeed peeved enough to write all this.
The Giveaway was temporarily delayed until this morning due to a surfeit of scrumpy, however the draw duly took place with Mrs P as Official Scrutineer. First name out of the hat (it was actually a pillowcase, but you get the idea) was Alastair from A Wargaming Gallimaufry. Congratulations Alastair - let me have your address via markham888ATgmailDOTcom and your prize will be winging its way to you. Commiserations to everyone else, and thanks for taking part!
Until next time......
